see you in a while Karl

When I got to Seattle, summer of 2001, Karl had took my fourteen year old daughter into his Tae Kwon Do class, in Tukwila Community Center. She had grown up, as all kids do over summer, and I was taken by surprise seeing her fight men an women twice her age and size. There were some amazing and very young kids doing stuff I only saw in the movies. But I was so proud of mine...
Karl and his family looked after her like their own and will be forever grateful to his kind attention to her. Never had the chance to learn more from him and I just heard he entered the Spirit World four years ago. I felt very sad. We always hope to enjoy people we like for a little longer, though we foolish throw away our chances and never give them a second thought.
Even if  I wont be seeing Karl again in this world, I am sure he still keeps an eye on us back here. And we will all join him in a while.

beautiful things

Fake representation of familiar stuff - this is a great work done by my friend Lucia David, a great artist. She usually gets her materials from old garage stuff and composes her pieces with that. It is amazing to see how anything can get back to life and mean something by the hands of a creative person. No crisis for artists - they know they are always fighting for their lives...

and it gets better

no matter what you do, it always get better. even when it does not seem so because you're blinded by some crazy plan you believe you have to get in motion. your small plans mean nothing in the bigger scheme of life. but you may get there, with a little help from your big brother spirit.

moving people

Oporto (Portugal) artists gather every year to show their work These guys move us with their art. Freedom of thought, letting go of what moves them too. Great artists that have to fight hard to keep working and making a living and not letting go their dreams.
